This model marks the return of a true motorsport legend: the Yamaha YZR500 from the 1978 World Championship season , with which Kenny Roberts won his first 500cc World Championship title. Kyosho brings this icon back as a 1:8 scale electric R/C hang-on racer , combining historical authenticity with modern RC technology.

The Hang-On Racer series has been known for decades for its unique handling. Thanks to the SDSS (Semi-Direct Steering System) , the motorcycle is completely self-supporting and enables extremely realistic lean angles and stable cornering – significantly superior to conventional RC motorcycles.

For this model, an original 1978 motorcycle was measured in detail and reproduced using a 3D scan. The result is an exceptionally realistic appearance down to the smallest detail. The newly developed upright front fork corresponds exactly to the original and improves both the look and the handling.

The movable driver with 13 articulation points is directly coupled to the steering and shifts his weight synchronously – for an impressively realistic driving experience, just like the original.
