Pocher Porsche 917K - Gulf Edition / Derek Bell & Jo Siffert

The motorsport rules of 1970 stipulated that prototypes had to have less than 3 liters of displacement unless more than 25 were built. Porsche accepted this challenge and built 25 917K prototypes with 4.5 to 5-liter engines, which immediately caused a sensation on the race track.

The concept was outrageous: not just one, but 25 Le Mans challengers were built at great expense, qualifying for "sports car" status by circumventing the 3.0-liter limit for prototypes. The resulting 4.5 to 5 liter engine of the 917 (the largest air-cooled race car of all time) made its prototype rivals obsolete in one fell swoop.

POCHER now presents this racing icon in 1:8 scale as a high-quality kit with more than 300 parts. Continuing the POCHER tradition, the body of the model, which weighs around 6 kg, is made entirely of metal and is already painted. Various parts can be moved and the doors and hoods can be opened. The accurately fitting kit has many screwed components and is easy to assemble with a little skill.
